Description: Danny Spoonamore (2)
Comment: This is my uncle Danny. I came across this photo about two years ago and he actually believed there were no other childhood pictures of himself anymore. He looks just like my grandfather. According to my uncle and my father my grandmother gave these pictures to a news article to publish. They didn't know the context of that article. He hurt his foot I think from a bike chain.

Comment: The five Brannen Sisters of Maysville, Kentucky. Mom seated center, holding an issue of The American Journal of Nursing, was the last of the sisters to graduate nursing school. If any nurses out there knew Mom or any of her sisters, give a shout!

Description: Zora O'Connell, her son Jack, Jerry Kinman, and Maurice O'Connell in front of their Store O'Connell Grocery
Comment: I am the blonde haired boy in the picture. I was 16 1/2 years old and started working for the O'Connell's at the age of 15. I grew up on Scott's Egg and Fruit farm outside of Bromley, KY and O'Connell's was my first job outside the farm. Zora and Maurice treated e like their own son. Jack taught me about meat butchering. All three were my second family. On my 17th birthday, Maurice bought me my very first car, a 1966 Ford Galaxy 500. Although the store is no longer there, the memories remain.

Description: High Bridge Ky. On Cincinnati Southern Railroad.
Comment: This is not the High Bridge on the once Cincinnati Southern Railroad near Wilmore, KY. I'm not sure where this was taken but it is not High Bridge. There is an old postcard at the begining of the thumbnail list of bridges which is the correct High Bridge. The area around the real High Bridge was once known as High Bridge, KY. Sorry I am no help identifying where this was taken. Also, it is not Young's High Bridge which is near Lawrenceburg, KY.

Description: Ivory Soul, a music group from Boston, performs a number at the DARE Concert in Devou Park.
Comment: SHUT THE FRONT DOOR! Plot twist: I'M IN THIS PICTURE. I don't remember going to see them at Devou Park, but apparently their performance in my elementary school gym moved me enough to seek them out elsewhere.

Comment: SHUT THE FRONT DOOR! I swear, this group came to AD Owens when I was in 6th grade. I won their tape in a raffle. Everyone told me this was a fever dream because no one else remembers it. This made my day. I feel seen. Not gonna lie, 6th grade me considered their A side opener Candy Boy an absolute bop.

Description: In unknown place at Old Booth Hospital
Comment: This is a photo of a patient chart rack in the nurses' station on the fourth floor. The metal, spring-loaded, top-opening clipboard chart holders were designed with a rod at the top and stored by hanging them in this rack. The charts were organized in the rack by the patients' room numbers. Please note that room 431 was a four bed ward which is rarely seen in healthcare facilities today.

Description: Piano at Old Booth Hospital
Comment: The organ was positioned in the right front corner of the chapel in 1975-1976, and I believe it was a Hammond Organ. A sermonette was delivered to the nursing students and instructors each morning by Brigadier Lamhe and a hymn was sung. Chapel attendance was mandatory for the hospital's student nurses. I was not only a nursing student at Booth Hospital, but I could also play the organ. Almost every morning while I attended school, I played that organ before and during our chapel service.
